In 1921, at the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Baroda, Yashwant Dinkar Pendharkar met fellow poets Madhav Julian and Shridhar Ranade, sparking the creation of the Ravikiran Mandal literary circle in Pune that would redefine Marathi poetry recitals.
