🎭 Born into a family where art was a legacy, Thota Tharani watched his father play female roles on stage before turning to art direction, planting seeds for a career that would redefine Indian cinema’s visual language by the 1970s.

🖌️ In 1971, armed with a Graduate Diploma in Mural Painting from Chennai’s Government College of Fine Arts, Tharani embarked on a journey blending traditional artistry with cinematic storytelling, later sharpening his skills in printmaking in France and London.
3🎬 His debut as an independent set designer for the Telugu film Nagamalli set the stage for over 200 films across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi languages, showcasing his signature ability to conjure entire worlds from scratch.
