🌟 In 1918, at just 14 years old, T. S. Soundaram was married, but after her husband’s early death, her parents insisted she continue her education, leading her to graduate as a doctor from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi, in 1936.

During her medical studies, she befriended Sushila Nayyar and met Mahatma Gandhi, immersing herself in the freedom struggle while completing her degree at age 32.
3Against her parents' initial opposition, she married G. Ramachandran in 1940 after Gandhi’s counsel; both became deeply involved in the Quit India Movement shortly after.
4Gandhi entrusted her to establish a rural development institution in Tamil Nadu, which led to the founding of Gandhigram in 1947, focusing on healthcare, education, and village industries for the poorest communities.
