In 2007, Dr. Tatyarao Pundlikrao Lahane performed his 100,000th cataract surgery at J. J. Hospital, Mumbai, an event marked by the presence of Maharashtra's Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

🌾 Born in 1957 in Makegaon village, Latur district, Maharashtra, Lahane overcame early personal health challenges when his mother donated a kidney to him due to his failing kidneys at a young age.
3In 1985, Lahane began his medical career at Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College in Ambajogai, working in remote and tribal areas to provide eye care services.
4💻 As Dean of Grant Medical College and J. J. Hospital from 2010 to 2017, he modernized the outpatient department by introducing computerization, significantly improving patient management systems.
