🌊 In 1981, Syed Zahoor Qasim led India's very first scientific expedition to Antarctica, a bold move that opened the icy continent for Indian research and set the stage for seven more missions through 1988.

Born in 1926 in Rakswara Gram, Allahabad, Qasim’s ancestral lineage traced back to rulers of Kaushambi, blending heritage with scientific pursuit as he topped zoology at Aligarh Muslim University in 1949 with a gold medal.
