Suman Kalyanpur is an Indian playback singer who is most notable for her work in Hindi cinema. She recorded songs for movies in several languages besides Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Angika, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Odia and Punjabi.

🎤 In 1954, Suman Kalyanpur made her Bollywood debut with the film Mangu, singing the lullaby "Koi Pukare Dheere Se Tujhe," marking her entry into Hindi cinema amid a competitive musical landscape.

Born Suman Hemmadi in Dhaka in 1937, her family relocated to Mumbai in 1943, where she balanced studies at Sir J. J. School of Arts and rigorous classical vocal training under maestros like Pandit Keshav Rao Bhole.
3🎶 During the 1960s, she recorded over 140 duets with Mohammed Rafi, especially when the legendary duo Lata Mangeshkar and Rafi had a royalty dispute, giving her a rare window to showcase her voice alongside Rafi.
