In 1910, in the village of Bajapti near Chandpur (now in Bangladesh), Santidev Ghosh was born as Santimoy Ghosh, but Rabindranath Tagore personally renamed him Santidev, meaning 'Lord of peace', setting a unique tone for his lifelong association with Tagore’s legacy.
