🌟 In 1965, Ram Bahadur Rai led a student protest at Banaras Hindu University against removing 'Hindu' from the university's name, resulting in his expulsion and halting his Ph.D. in economics.
2
In 1974, Rai became the first person jailed under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during the Emergency, spending a total of eighteen months imprisoned for his activism.
