The Story
1
๐ป In 1942, at just 12 years old in Tamil Nadu, Lalgudi Jayaraman began his career accompanying Carnatic music legends like Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar and Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar, under the strict tutelage of his father V. R. Gopala Iyer who forbade even sharpening pencils to protect his fingers.

By 1965, Lalgudi had gained international recognition when he performed at the Edinburgh Festival and was gifted a violin by Yehudi Menuhin, symbolizing a rare cross-cultural musical dialogue.
