๐ŸŒ In 1937, Gopal Gurunath Bewoor was commissioned as a second lieutenant on the Special List, Indian Land Forces, then attached to the 2nd Battalion, Green Howards, and saw combat during operations in Waziristan, marking his early exposure to frontier warfare.

In July 1945, Bewoor attended the Staff College at Quetta and uniquely served as Under Secretary (Military) to the Viceroy's Coordination Council, the only Indian officer to hold this critical administrative role before Independence.
3After 1947, he managed the sensitive Army Partition Committee tasked with allotting weapons and regiments between India and Pakistan, shifting from his parent regiment, the Baluch, now allocated to Pakistan, to the Dogra Regiment.
4โš”๏ธ In 1964, he took command of the 33 Corps at Siliguri, a strategic post near the Himalayan borders, and by 1969 became General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, leading key operations during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
