The Story
1
In 1964, when a cyclone tore apart the Pamban Bridge linking Rameswaram to mainland Tamil Nadu, E. Sreedharan was tasked with rebuilding it in six months but astonished everyone by completing the job in just 46 days, defying all odds and deadlines.
2
🚆 In 1990, after retiring from Indian Railways, Sreedharan took on the seemingly impossible Konkan Railway project, threading a rail line through the treacherous Western Ghats, slashing Mumbai-Kochi travel distance by a third despite protests and environmental concerns.
