Dayanand Saraswati born Mool Shankar Tiwari, was a Hindu philosopher, social leader and founder of the Arya Samaj, a reform movement of Hinduism. The Story

1
🕉️ In 1824, Mool Shankar Tiwari was born in Tankara, Gujarat, into a Brahmin family; by age eight, his Yajnopavita Sanskara marked his formal ritual education, but a mouse defiling a Shiva idol during Shivratri sparked his first doubt in idol worship.
2
In 1846, rejecting his arranged marriage, he ran away from home to live as a wandering ascetic, beginning a 25-year quest across northern India for religious truth, including intense study under Swami Virjananda in Mathura from 1860 to 1863.
3📜 In 1875, Dayananda founded the Arya Samaj in Bombay, advocating a return to Vedic authority and denouncing idol worship, while promoting social reforms such as opposing child marriage and supporting widow remarriage.
4In 1876, he coined the phrase "Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it," predating and inspiring freedom leaders like Lokmanya Tilak to demand Indian self-rule.
