In 1910, Datto Vaman Potdar co-founded the Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal in Pune with Sardar Mehendale and V.K. Rajwade, a pioneering effort to collect and preserve Marathi historical documents.

🌟 Between 1912 and 1920, he rose from teacher to Head Master at Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya, his alma mater in Pune, before becoming a professor at New Poona College in 1921, where he worked until 1935.
3Potdar mastered Sanskrit and Persian, skills that enabled him to research rare historical manuscripts about the Maratha Empire, traveling extensively across India for this purpose.
4🎓 Appointed Vice-Chancellor of University of Pune from 1961 to 1964, he steered academic programs amid post-independence educational reforms in Maharashtra.
