Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy is an Indian gastroenterologist the founder and chairman of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, the world’s largest gastroenterology hospital, located in Hyderabad. He is the first Indian doctor to receive all the three Padma Awards. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and has served as the Chairman of the World Endoscopy Organization Research Committee.

In 1956, Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy was born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, into a lineage of doctors stretching back three generations, setting a familial precedent for medicine.

🎓 By 1980, after earning his M.D. at Madras Medical College and completing a D.M. at PGIMER Chandigarh, he specialized in gastrointestinal endoscopy, then a nascent field in India.
3In 1994, he founded the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad, which grew to become the world's largest gastroenterology hospital, pioneering day-care endoscopic procedures.
